Lakewood Neighborhood Spotlight

One of the most important things to remember about Lakewood is the easy access to Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Plus, along with the close proximity to Interstate-5, Lakewood also offers of tons of outdoor opportunities, shopping, and dining—it’s easy to see why so many people choose to live here.

SHOPPING

  • Lakewood Towne Center: If you want something to do on a Saturday afternoon you don’t have to look any further than Lakewood Towne Center. There is plenty of shopping and dining to fit whatever you may be in the mood for. Places like Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Safeway, Michaels, Petsmart, Party City, and many other shops are all in the mix.
  • Bridgeport Way: If the town center doesn’t tickle your fancy, Bridgeport Way offers just as much if not more to do. Bridgeport Way is a main street that can get you anywhere you want or need to go!

STAYING ACTIVE

  • Waughop Lake Trail: Lakewood offers a wide variety of parks and trails for some outside activities. Guaranteed you’ll run into some water too by way of a lake or a pond. Lake Waughop is one of my favorites, and it has a 1-mile paved loop around the lake with additional trails as well.
  • Lakewood Family YMCA: Take the family to the YMCA for the afternoon as there is something for everybody.

GOOD EATS

  • AA Meats: Stop by AA Meats for custom meat packages and hard-to-find meats like elk, deer, bison, etc.
  • Carrs: One of my favorite places is Carrs, a laid-back restaurant with diner food that’s just a couple locks from the Lakewood Towne Center
These are some of my favorite things in Lakewood. What are yours?
